WHO WE ARE
Professional Hunter, Jumper, and Equitation Training
Tim Leuzarder and Samantha Kaplan are proud to operate their private training and show business, Chestnut Street, out of Pompton Plains, NJ. Their close-knit group of clients range in age from 12-70.
Tim, a 2005 Centenary University graduate, ran Essex Equestrian Center in West Orange as Manager and Head Trainer for a decade. Sam worked closely with Tim on the administrative side at Essex. Her focus on client relations, contracts and the many other details associated with the individual needs of each client and their horse or pony allows Tim to do what he loves best - teach and train.
Tim works with intermediate through advanced students in all phases of instruction. He coaches students from the local to the national level in divisions from the mini stirrup all the way up to and through the Big Eq.

At Chestnut Street, we are committed to providing the highest quality training and show services to our clients. We work closely with each rider to develop a personalized training program that meets their individual needs and goals (for both riders and horses). Our facility is less than 25 years old, modern, and equipped with everything our clients need to succeed. We offer 12x12 fully-matted stalls with automatic waterers and the largest private indoor arena in New Jersey. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and inclusive environment that fosters growth and development. We are grateful to have an amazing team behind us including our long-term veterinarian and farrier who work closely with one another.
